Employers, we need you….!
We believe that to train your apprentices and future workforce we need your input. Amazing apprenticeships happen when employers, tutors and apprentices come together to maximise opportunities for personal growth.
Here are our top 3 ways to work together to support apprentices to achieve great things. |

Join your apprentice along with their tutor every 12 weeks for their progress review meeting and agree challenging goals to hone your apprentice’s skills. |
|
Monitor your apprentices progress using our Competence Learning App. |
|
Attend our enrolment meetings at the start of the programme to find out more about how the training is delivered and meet our tutor. |
|

Did you know? |

If you need even more feedback on your learners you can gain employer access to our app.
Learners and employers can access the app from many devices – laptops, smartphones, tablets – just ask your tutor!
Some learners said they had difficulty uploading and using the app – CSL tutors can report any issues to our app provider so please advise your apprentices of this. We are here to support them throughout their apprenticeship journey.

Well done to our learners |

Josh from Chatham Town FC recently passed the L2 Community Activator Coach standard with a distinction, Josh is now going onto Loughborough University to continue with his studies around sport. Josh had this to say about his experience within the apprenticeship. |

|
Hi Kev, I’ve just finished my PowerPoint and interview. I got a provisional grade of a distinction. I achieved that in all 3 sections. Just like to say Kev, I can’t thank you enough for your support and time throughout this whole year in helping me become who I am today. The grade is the grade but you and Simon have thoroughly supported me in becoming a better person overall and I thoroughly appreciate this. Especially in the past couple of months helping me finish the course and complete the EPA, the support has been brilliant. |

David, an apprentice studying our Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher programme, has recently passed his Level 2 English Functional Skills and this is what he shared with us. |
|
|
|
|
|
At first, the idea of examining in these subjects felt daunting. But once it was explained and demonstrated, I was put at ease. After I had met my tutor, I was more motivated to learn and pass these exams. She always adapted the learning style and made the learning environment relaxed using guided questions and adjustments to delivery style.
Now that I have achieved my English, I feel a huge sense of relief. I have a qualification to help with my future career. My advice is to be persistent in the learning process and try to take as much in as you can. The tutors are not there to make things difficult. Be proactive and go into the subjects with the mentality of self-growth. Enhancing your knowledge is an ongoing process and with these foundations, you will only thrive to become even better in your subject fields. |

Learning and Development Update |

Did you know? We are now delivering our courses in bespoke group workshops. Do you know of anyone that would benefit from enrolling on one of these apprenticeships? The feedback so far has been excellent:

As a result of the company-encouraged CPD training, we will soon be able to support profoundly deaf learners, as Leanne completes her Level 3 British Sign Language training to become a Communication Support Worker |

We have recently been sad to say farewell to our friend, colleague and top-class tutor, Natalie Aspinall. When you secure your dream job as only the third-ever female official in the Premier League, it’s tough to turn down, I imagine! Keep an eye out for her on Match of the Day on a Saturday evening! |

Looking after our apprentices |

Did you realise that YOUR apprentice is also OUR responsibility when it comes to Safeguarding and Prevent. I am sure that for most, you have no Safeguarding/Prevent concerns or issues with your apprentice.
But what if you did? Do you know the process that you are required to take when reporting? |
|

Step 1 |
|
Assess the seriousness of the concern. If your apprentice is in immediate danger, call the relevant services to help, follow your internal procedures. If not in immediate danger report to your Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, following your procedures. |
|
Step 2 |
|
You are REQUIRED to notify us through our Safeguarding/ Prevent process. Our policy is live on our website CSL Safeguarding and Prevent Policy. |
